Come Downtown and Make Your Voice Heard about NYU!

NYU 2031 Plan

Tomorrow morning one of the most important public hearings on NYU’s massive expansion plan will take place. We hope you can join GVSHP, neighbors, and friends to let the City Planning Commission know that residents, NYU faculty, NYU students, NYU tenants, and all New Yorkers who care about the Village object to this destructive and wrong-headed plan.

The public hearing is taking place on Wednesday, April 25th at 10 A.M. at The Museum of the American Indian, 1 Bowling Green (Broadway at Battery Place/State St. near Battery Park – take the 4/5 to Bowling Green; the 1 or R to Whitehall Street-South Ferry; or the J to Broad Street; M5, M15, or M20 Bus). Map.

This will likely be the only public hearing the City Planning Commission holds before voting on the NYU plan. The City Council is likely to only have one as well (which may be held in late June or July, when many may be unable to attend).

Public testimony for the April 25th hearing will be limited to 3 minutes per person, but you can submit longer testimony in writing. In order to testify, you may have to stay for several hours, although just attending for any period of time to show your opposition is helpful too. You can view sample testimony here.
