Application:
A Greek Revival style rowhouse built in 1839, with a ground floor storefront. Application is to legalize the installation of lighting and related housing, and artificial ivy secured to the façade without Landmarks Preservation Commission permits.

This application is closed. Application denied June 15th, 2010.

Status as of June 15th, 2010: LATEST NEWS
At the June 15th, 2010 Landmarks Preservation Commission hearing, the application to legalize artificial ivy, lighting and planters was denied.

Status as of June 7th, 2010:
At the Community Board 2 hearing on June 7th, 2010, the applicant presented plans to legalize three things:

1) Artificial ivy on the facade (the applicant is proposing also to plant real ivy and to trim back the artificial ivy as it is eventually replaced)
2) Planter boxes installed behind the retractable awning, which are to be used to grow real ivy
3) Mini halogen lights installed under the awning

Though the proposed elevation below shows many changes to the facade, most of them were approved on November 24th, 2009. The changes listed above are the only changes being considered as part of this proposal, which will be heard at the Landmarks Preservation Commission on June 15th, 2010.

Status as of May 27th, 2010:
Upon approval of the permit submitted on November 24th, 2009 (see below), the applicant has submitted a new, separate application to “legalize the installation of lighting and related housing, and artificial ivy secured to the façade without Landmarks Preservation Commission permits”. Photos of this application will be posted on this site following the Community Board 2 public hearing on Monday, June 7th, 2010.

Status as of November 24th, 2009:
A public hearing was held at the Landmarks Preservation Commission on November 24th, 2009, for an application for this building to “to alter the storefront.” The Commission approved the application, but asked for modifications to the proposal. A copy of the permit is included below.

This was the site of the former Village Restaurant. At the time this application was submitted, the existing storefront had casement windows, which the applicant had proposed to replace with French doors. No changes were proposed for the upper floors except for the removal of window guards.
