housetour2

Okay, everyone, if you’ve been considering joining us for our annual house tour, but haven’t yet purchased tickets, then now is your chance! It’s this Sunday, May 3rd from 1 – 5:30 PM. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind opportunity to see six beautiful homes in Greenwich Village. This is also GVSHP’s biggest annual fundraiser, so by buying tickets you’re also supporting all the work we do throughout the year. Thanks so much to those who have already bought tickets. For those of you who are still on the (Greek Revival style) fence, here’s some things you’ll see on this year’s tour.

housetour1The 17th Annual Village House Tour Benefit gives you exclusive access to six unique Village homes. Highlights include a kitchen floor made of reclaimed stone from the façade of the Phipps Mansion, which was located on upper Fifth Avenue before it was demolished in the 1920s (lots of rumors on the Internet as to where the stone ended up – here’s one answer!).

You’ll also see a beautifully restored home overlooking a secret garden as well as an impeccable antiques collection. The homeowners also uncovered some great historic quirks during the renovation.

Don’t miss another elegant townhouse that can link its history to the Croton Aqueduct, the construction of which famously provided clean drinking water to New York City beginning in the 19th century.

You’ll also be seeing an incredible studio and art collection of a long-time Village artist. Not many people can say they have a Willem de Kooning painting that was given to them by de Kooning himself.

On the tour, there will also be a chance to see the home of a celebrated local business owner who loves the views from the rooftop vegetable garden. You’ll love them too – it’s hard to pass up a stunning view of the Village!

Yet another showstopper is a grand Greek Revival townhouse with outdoor space on almost every floor. Perfect for what we hope will be a beautiful, sunny day this Sunday, May 3rd.

Many of the homes will have their gardens and rooftop decks open for you to enjoy. We hope you’ll join us this Sunday. Oh, and buy your tickets here! Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the tour, but they will be priced at a higher rate.
